I have been working in translation business since I graduated from the University. One of my tutors gave me the firs huge project and this was how it really started. I found out that this could be a good way to earn money. So today I am a freelance translator of German and I can tell you that this work gives me so much satisfaction. And if you have a lot of work it is also well-paid. I can work independently so I can choose the time when I work. But you still need to meet deadlines, like always. I also have a lot of contact with other people and I learn a lot. This job also gives you the opportunity to travel at home and abroad. I need to up to date with everything, I deal with variety of texts from different fields from sport and entertainment through law and business to economy and finance. I want to be professional so I need to have trainings, read a lot of professional books on the field in question. But the type of work of most often do is certified translation. I have a licence to provide my customers with certified translation. First I had to pass a special examination to get the right to do Certified Translation work. It means that your translation skills and your command of a given language have been verified.
