Yesterday in the evening my friend George visited me. He wanted to talk and he said this was urgent. I was free and I had nothing to do so was glad that he came. But it appeared that he had some business to do. I was very surprised when I what he had in his hand. He brought a wooden box with him. I was surprised but I was waiting until he opened the box. George told me he wanted to sell gold. When he opened the box he brought with him I saw a lot of jewellery - gold rings, gold necklaces, gold chains and earrings. George wanted to sell gold to me because he needed money. I asked him what was happening but he did not want to tell me anything. I told him I was not able to buy anything from him but I advised him to go to the pawnshop in the centre of the city and ask the owner if he could pawn or sell gold he brought in the wooden box to my house. I asked him why he needed money so desperately but he was not willing to reveal anything. I wanted to help him but I could not do that without knowing what the problem was. I told him that if he wanted to sell gold I could buy some earrings but not more as I couldn"t afford it. George agreed and I bought his gold earrings. Then George left my house.
